Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

In Thor: Ragnarok, the God of Thunder, Thor, returns to Asgard after learning of his father Odin's disappearance and the impending apocalypse known as Ragnarok. Upon finding Odin, Thor learns that he has an older sister, Hela, the Goddess of Death, who was imprisoned long ago. When Odin passes away, Hela is released and immediately seizes control of Asgard, shattering Thor's hammer Mjolnir in the process. Thor and Loki are quickly overpowered and cast out of Asgard, leaving Hela to rule the realm.

Thor crash-lands on Sakaar, a junk planet ruled by the eccentric Grandmaster, where he is captured and forced to become a gladiator. To his surprise, he is pitted against his former teammate, the Hulk, who has been stuck on Sakaar since the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Thor teams up with Hulk, a hard-drinking former Valkyrie warrior, and Loki to escape the planet and return to Asgard to stop Hela and prevent Ragnarok—the prophecy that foretells the destruction of Asgard.

The final battle takes place on Asgard, where Thor, having realized that he cannot defeat Hela through brute force alone, unleashes his full power as the God of Thunder. Thor decides to fulfill the Ragnarok prophecy, allowing the fire demon Surtur to destroy Asgard, thereby defeating Hela. In the end, Thor becomes the new king of Asgard, but the realm itself is lost. He leads the surviving Asgardians into space, determined to find a new home, setting up future conflicts as they encounter Thanos on their journey.
